The first Marine Camps were held in Africa, in February 2003, with an aim to bring learners closer to nature.
Each camp gives 60 children the chance in a lifetime, as for many of the youngsters it will be the first time that they have seen a lighthouse, the ocean or a starfish. By the end of the three-day camp they have learned about dolphins, whales, the oceans and how each one of them can make a difference by caring for coastlines.
Marine Connection is helping to encourage the adults of tomorrow to develop excellent conservation beliefs and practices for the future.
