The Eden Project was another winner providing a good selection of uncomplicated dishes’ which included local fruit and vegetables.
A trend towards healthier children’s food is growing. The Food Commission’s report, Broadcasting Bad Health: Why Food Marketing to Children Needs to be Controlled, criticises TV advertising during children’s viewing times, nearly half of which promotes junk food. It has been submitted to the World Health Organisation. Inte-national investment bank UBS Warburg has warned that McDonald’s, Tate & Lyle, Cadburys, Coca Cola and others may risk reduced profits because they sell fatty, sugary foods, which are likely to be subject to future regulation.
In a bill, Charles Hendry MP, has suggested food should be labelled: This product contains colourings or additives, which may affect the behaviour of some children’.
