Eileen Caddy, co-founder of the world famous Findhorn Community in Scotland, has been awarded an MBE for her service to Spiritual Enquiry’.

She is among the world’s 50 most influential spiritual figures. When asked about her latest accolade Eileen said: ‘I feel so thrilled that God is being given the glory. I am very grateful; yet all I have done has been achieved by following God’s will.’

Eileen first received personal guidance from a still, small voice’ inside herself, a source she calls the God within, in a Glastonbury sanctuary 50 years ago. Be Still and Know that I am God’. The words came in response to a heartfelt plea for help, at a time when she felt she had no one but God to turn to. Her messages have since been shared with more than a million people who have read her books, which have been translated into more than 27 languages, and have been a source of inspiration for the many thousands of visitors drawn to Findhorn each year.

The Findhorn Community began in 1962 with a small family group living in a caravan on barren dune land in Scotland. It has now grown to 600 people and is recognised internationally as a centre of excellence for spiritual education.
Now 86, Eileen is a powerful Elderwoman. Through dedication, faith and immense courage she has co-created a spiritual centre of substance and stability that stands as a symbol of hope to many around the world. She may well hand over her accolade to God, but it is her willingness to serve that has allowed the God within’ to become a reality for more than a million people upon this planet.
