Focusing on health, environment and personal development, Passion covers issues important to the planet and its people. The music is an eclectic mix of new and classic hits, as well as songs from World Music artists, something not heard on any other radio station.
Passion was started by Chantal Cooke and Kenny Stevens, two radio professionals who felt radio was a powerful medium but seldom used for more than tabloid news and celebrity gossip. So, they decided to put their skills to use and do something about it.
‘Passion is all about giving people information to enable them to make the most out of their lives in a responsible and ethical way,’ says Chantal. ‘It never preaches, but brings you a range of balanced information so you can make up your own mind.‘
Like Positive News, Passion does not buy into the media craze of always highlighting the bad and the shocking. ‘Hearing nothing but bad news really isn’t good for us. Of course, terrible things happen and we do need to know about them, but we also need to be informed about the good things and the positive work that’s being done,’ says Chantal. ‘The more you hear about the great things others are doing, the more you’re inspired to do yourself.’
You can listen to Passion on DAB Digital Radio across London, the south of England and on the Internet.
