After contacting Positive News in the UK and then Noticias Positivas in Spain, they felt inspired to embark on their own project. Now, the Noticias Positivas Argentina team has four journalists. They aim to show through their website and radio broadcasts, how countless individuals, non-profit organisations and research institutes in Argentina are engaged in programmes designed to bring back hope to the distant corners of their vast country. As does Positive News UK, they are focusing on the positive stories that counteract the mass media calamities and inspire new attitudes.
“In Argentina we are finding many positive stories in rural areas far from Buenos Aires on which the rest of the media simply haven1t focused,” said Andrea MÈndez. “We feel proud to be bringing the positive news concept to Latin America and to form part of the international network.”
