The full workshop offers a youth-orientated introduction to the ideas of Food Security, examining where food comes from in the world, making the connection between healthy living and healthy bodies. It is also hoped that an understanding will be gained of how kids and communities can support healthy eating with empowering kids to make smart food choices.

Combined with all of this is the hands-on experience in growing food providing students with the skills and materials to care for their gardens. The Growing Kids workshops are a remarkable way of introducing children to their natural environments and an understanding of their impact on the Earth.
