The youth media and media training network Worldyouth Media have recently hosted a gathering open to all involved in youth media and empowerment. Held in Washington DC, USA, the gathering in January was a space to creatively work together to strengthen the networks of youth media.

Those who produce or plan on producing CD’s, zines, radio, video, public relations, photography or multimedia with youth involvement were invited for a number of discussions.

The event was hosted by the Worldyouth Media: why watch the news when you can be the news?’ which is a programme from the Youth Leadership Support Network and the Art and Media House of Latin American Youth Centre. Worldyouth Media are an exciting group who aim to inspire and educate young people in the city to express themselves, become communicators and change their realities.
