Living in the Future isbeing produced by Undercurrents, the award-winning media charity. Itwill be a step-by-step guide to building an eco-home, dealing witheverything from compost toilets to planning regulations. Undercurrentsare now working with Community Channel to produce a monthly documentaryabout an Eco Village, which can be watched online for free.
Ecovillages and similar projects are refreshing solutions in a world whereseveral generations have grown up in urban areas, with few survival’skills and little appreciation of our essential connection with nature. This DVD will explore how individuals can make a big impact like TonyWrench and his partner, who, through the building of their ecoroundhouse ñ made from oak, cobwood and a straw-insulated turf roof ñhave managed to change their local planning policies. The DVD is duefor release in early 2007 and it will be distributed by Undercurrents,as well as other groups across the world.
