In February 2006, Green Map System released their Powerful Green Map of New York, a city guide that focuses on energy conservation, renewables and climate change. The Powerful Green Map is the fifth citywide edition of the Green Apple Map of New York’s environment since 1992, and is the first to focus on a single theme ñ energy. It provides an overview and habit changing resource for everyone. With three views of New York’s energy environment, entitled The Everyday and Easy, Powerful Investments and The Downsides of our fuellish’ choices, this map charts hundreds of sites around the city and links users to 200 online resources. It is available in both poster and folded format and on the project’s website it can also be downloaded as a PDF.
Speaking about the map, Wendy E. Brawer, founding director of Green Map System said: ‘Taking action to make smart energy choices will help us make the move towards a more secure and empowered future, in addition to having a positive impact on our environment and our wallets.
