Editor, Peter Lloyd, says: “Hong Kong can seem an ecological desert at times. The amount of waste, pollution and unconscious living can seem overwhelming. So the need for positive news is strong. China is becoming the world’s factory and an important part of the world economy. So, the idea of being able to present alternative views here seems even more important.”
The main distribution point for the newspaper in central Hong Kong is the organicvegetarian cafe, Life. Peter Lloyd says: “The day the first issue came into the cafe, I handed out my first paper to a man at 11am. I met him again at 3pm. He had just booked himself into a Spirit of Business course in Zurich after reading about Gross National Happiness and going to the website. All this within a few hours of the paper being handed out!.”
“Positive News is an idea whose time is now. It is joyful to hear all the gratitude for a journal which focuses only on the positive. I hope the newspaper catalyses the need for ecological sustainability and living lightly in Hong Kong and China.”
