One Million Faces Helping to Control Arms

On the 22nd of June 2006 the Control Arms campaign reached its aim for the “Million Faces” petition. The petition will be presented to UN secretary general Kofi Annan.

On the 22nd of June 2006 the Control Arms campaign reached its aim for the “Million Faces” petition. People from across the world were asked to sign up with the aim of presenting one million names and faces to Kofi Annan at the United Nations Small arms conference which takes place in New York from the 26th of June to the 7th of July. The petition, which urges governments to bring about stricter international arms trade laws, will be presented to UN secretary general Kofi Annan bye Julius Arile from Kenya, the official Millionth Face to be added to the petition and a victim of gun crime himself.
