Six teenagers have become Wales’ first young ambassadors on climate change after beating hundreds of other young people to secure the Welsh Assembly Government roles. Their appointment comes after a nationwide search to find youngsters who are passionate about the planet and their environment.

The competition was launched in 2007 to identify young people who can use their influence to persuade their friends, families and communities to do their bit to tackle climate change. The chosen six will spend a year in office spreading the word about how people can take simple steps to reduce their footprints.
