Previously known as Farmers’ Market Month, events are taking place across the UK celebrating local agriculture, food and drink as part of a month dedicated to traditional produce. Get up close and personal with UK seasonal produce including berries and soft fruit, salad leaves, green beans and peas, as well as the less obvious seasonal fayre like cheese, herbs and edible flowers. There’ll be tastings, farm tours, workshops, demonstrations, picnics and barbecues.

The new Month of Taste website can give you all the information you will need about how to get involved and about the background to the event. It is an annual celebration of great British local foods, from all round the UK. Organised by FARMA, the world’s largest cooperative of farmers selling direct to the public — through farm shops, farmers’ markets, pick your own farms and more — this third year of the Month of Taste promises to be the biggest yet!
