Waile/Bolivia Dialogue

The main speakers are Luzmila Carpio, Quechuan Leader from Bolivia, Musician and Bolivian Ambassador to France

Dafydd Iwan, President of Plaid Cymru-The Party of Wales, and Singer

A panel of people from Wales and Bolivia will explore key aspects of politics and culture related to the speakers’ themes.

To celebrate the election of Evo Morales as the first indigenous president in a Latin American country Bolivia will be the focus for the El Sueno Existe festival. Its new Constitution is an inspiration to everyone who looks to a sustainable future.

Movements of indigenous peoples are making great strides in Latin America. They are revitalising languages and cultures that empires and markets have suppressed and diminished. At the beginning of the festival there will be a day of information and discussion about indigenous cultures in Latin America and Wales.

Auchtermuchty Festival

Auchtermuchty Festival is a 10-day music and community event. This popular festival is now in its 29th year with traditional music concerts and ceilidhs, music workshops for all ages, a family fun day, a saturday flea and vegetable market, craft stalls, a community procession and outdoor theatre performances. Live performance is the mainstay of the festival and the grand finale is a huge family dance in the town square.

“Auchtermuchty Festival is a kaleidoscope of music, friends, song, laughter, colour, late night sing-a-rounds, early morning competitions, and dancing in the square. Thanks for the memories.” Sheena Wellington, traditional singer.

For visitors, there are two camp sites with local volunteers providing reasonably priced meals as well as local B & Bs.
