Then look within… it all starts in the individual. As you change your consciousness to love, peace, harmony and unity, the consciousness of the whole world will change.’ Eileen Caddy, co-founder of the Findhorn Community
The Inspired Action conference, which takes place at the Findhorn Foundation, will emphasise that in dealing with the challenging topics of our time, it is more important then ever to create a balance between inner and outer work.
One participant is travelling to the conference from the Badilisha Eco-village, in Kenya. Both Findhorn and Badilisha are part of NextGen Eco-village network, a global community that is being created by young people. Established in 2008, Badilisha support the vision of a way of life that moves society towards a stable and peaceful world. Their intention is for all people to live together in a way that supports the planet and respects everyone’s needs.
Evans Owuor Odula, executive director of Badilisha says: ‘My main objective for coming to the conference is to link up and share ideas about sustainability. Our community is greatly in need of it, due to the socio-economic challenges ranging from environmental to health issues. My wish is to acquire ideas about creating an environment for peaceful co-existence.’
The conference organiser, Margo van Greta is delighted and explains: ‘The Findhorn Foundation and the surrounding community are a living example of the idea, Be the change you want to see in the world’. To have people from all over the planet joining the conference makes it very exciting and meaningful. It truly becomes world work’.’
