The Chew TV Network, a Plymouth-based social enterprise run by and for young people, has been awarded first place in a list of ‘Top 10 Creative Companies to Watch in 2010′. The accolade was given by one of the biggest creative networks in the UK, Bristol Media.

Chew TV hosts a collection of social broadcasting websites aimed at 14 to 25 year-olds. The idea is to provide a global platform for new talent, where young people interested in media can connect, share ideas and upload their work for others to view.

As well as helping to discover young stars of the future, the Network is also a place for other organisations and groups to advertise their ongoing youth projects. To date, Chew TV has worked with high-profile clients such as Creativity Culture & Education – a national organisation that generates transformational cultural and creative programmes to enhance young people’s skills and life chances – and The International Centre for New Media.

Korash Sanjideh, Chew TV’s managing director said: “This recognition is proof that investment in young talent is where the real capital lies.” He added that in these challenging economic times, Chew TV’s success is based on “honest business practice and genuinely wanting to make a positive impact.”
